jmark Posted October 21, 2008 Share #25 Posted October 21, 2008 (edited) ^ Thanks. Too big for my stock 240Z motor. I guess I'll go with my first choice of a Stahl header. Probably a 1 3/8" to 1 1/2" tubing. I have been talking to Jere about what it would take to get a GB going from him. Arne Posted October 21, 2008 Share #26 Posted October 21, 2008 Mark, I think the 1 3/4" he noted was the dual pipe size, not the header primary size.
jmark Posted October 22, 2008 Share #27 Posted October 22, 2008 ^ You maybe right. I have been told 1 3/8" primaries is optimum for a stock 240Z.
John Coffey Posted October 22, 2008 Share #28 Posted October 22, 2008 Stahl typically offers a 1 5/8" and 1 3/4" primary tube size on their race headers. The dual exhaust setup you guys are discussing is great from a nostalgic point of view but exhaust technology has moved on. This setup will give you less horsepower and torque then a good single 2.5" or 3" exhaust.
jmark Posted October 22, 2008 Share #29 Posted October 22, 2008 You are correct John. I have been talking with Jere Stahl & Keith Thomas (katman) and both recommend the 1 3/8" primaries for a stock 240Z.
jcote75 Posted October 22, 2008 Share #30 Posted October 22, 2008 Here are some pictures of that exhaust system. Sorry for the quality, flash on the camera is broken.... If anyone need some measurements, I'll be happy to help! Joce
