i had a 280zx that i bought and it turned out the title could not be registered in texas. soo i was pretty disappointed so i found a cheap chaise to swap titles and vins with. so i roll out to scoop up this cheap Z. i was expecting the worst with a price tag of 100bux, but who cares i just need the title and plates. to my surprise.........

the chaise??? You mean the chassis? Either way I think you should leave the titles alone. Your 82 has a 17 digit vin and that one has an 11 digit vin. Won't work. Swap the good parts into the car with the good title.

overdrivex,

I'd like to advise you on two points.

First, Listen to what Stephen tells you. What he doesn't know about 280's isn't worth knowing, and;

well plan on using the new chassis because of the shape its in it would be waste to not use it. theres no real rust on this car. zero dry rot i would say only 8% of this car got rust. when i originally pick it up i was expecting a complete rust bucket. now that i got a good generally rust free z all i need now is a good cheap parts car in houston. not gonna be easy since cars are generally overpriced in houston.

And, there's not a Z to be found in any junk yard in Houston, either. They're all gone.:ermm:
