Posted October 19, 200816 yr comment_263729 Well I have received my second tranny mount for my 7/71 240Z. And again it will not bolt up. The problem is the same. On my mount that I removed, if you draw a line in between the bolt holes that go to the transmission, the threaded bolt that sticks down to attach to the cross member is directly in line. On Both my mounts I received from Black Dragon, the threaded bolt for the cross member is a 1/4" up. No amount of forcing, cussing, or beating will make it go in this way. The Mount is just not right. I guess I will try MSA, but if they use the same vendor, then I am hosed. I have a new Nissan diff mount, so I wonder if Nissan Dealers would carry a tranny mount? Black Dragon Mount: Old Mount: Here is my car waiting for a new mount! October 19, 200816 yr comment_263735 ......snip..........I have a new Nissan diff mount, so I wonder if Nissan Dealers would carry a tranny mount? I learned many moons ago to check with the dealer first....you'd be surprised as to what they still have. Good luck. October 19, 200816 yr comment_263745 Interestingly, the rear transmission mount in mine is one of the very few parts that I have bought from BD, part number #62-700. I've had that mount in my prior yellow 240Z (10/70) and later moved it to the current red 240Z (7/71) when I began parting the yellow car out. It worked(s) fine in both. However, I did buy it from them more than two years ago. October 19, 200816 yr comment_263754 No, not of that part. (Other miscellaneous parts, yes, but not this one.)But it looked just like this one:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-240z-260z-280z-280zx-Transmission-Mount-NOS_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a1240Q7c39Q3a1Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c240Q3a1318QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem370095737769QQitemZ370095737769#ht_500wt_0 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/29705-transmission-mount-issue/#findComment-263754 Share on other sites
October 20, 200816 yr Author comment_263760 Thats the one. NOS is probably just what I need. You can see that the bolt that goes into the crossmember in that pic is clearly in between the two bolt holes. BD's distributor has a quality issue. October 20, 200816 yr comment_263772 Bear in mind I used that auction only as a picture example. My experience tells me that if that particular eBay seller is selling them as "NOS", what that really means is that you can buy it brand new from your Nissan dealer's parts department, often for less. Plus that seller charges a pile for shipping. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/29705-transmission-mount-issue/#findComment-263772 Share on other sites

October 22, 200816 yr comment_264011 I got mine from Gwinnett Nissan in the Atlanta area. Can't remember the price but they were about 30% cheaper than my local Nissan dealer. They have been great to deal with and have a good internet parts ordering system. The P/N again is 11320-N3200 as Arne previously said. October 22, 200816 yr comment_264013 There is one for sale on ebay currently. It looks like everything lines up like it should based on the picture. It is $49.99. The auction number is 370100423016. Thought you might be interested. carl Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/29705-transmission-mount-issue/#findComment-264013 Share on other sites
October 22, 200816 yr Author comment_264048 Thanks, I did get one off ebay, from the seller Arne pointed me to. His shipping is very high (especially since we are both in Houston), but after my refund from Black Dragon, its almost a wash. It has taught me a valuable lesson. Check with this board first, then the dealer second. MSA and BD are great and all, but the factory still supports these cars quite a bit, and I need to take advantage of that. October 22, 200816 yr comment_264068 Just to clarify, I never recommend that buying from that particular seller, I always recommend buying things he sells from your Nissan dealer instead.
