Posted October 20, 200816 yr comment_263801 In looking through the pictures of a recent purchase by another member, I came accross a picture that is obviously stating that these holes are not supposed to be there, but I have the same or similar holes in my core support (I will need to look again to see how similar they are). What would have been mounted here, or any reason for these holes? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/29713-core-support-holes/ Share on other sites
October 20, 200816 yr comment_263807 While I don't have any pictures right now to confirm it, I'm certain my car does not have anything similar. My best guess is that the car pictured may have had an oversized radiator mounted in it at some point. October 20, 200816 yr comment_263820 Are you referring to the mounting flanges for the radiator shroud? Fixitman Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/29713-core-support-holes/#findComment-263820 Share on other sites
October 20, 200816 yr Author comment_263824 No, the two holes that are in the core support itself. I'll be working on my car later today I'll snap some pictures. My car has never had A/C. There are no holes in the firewall or inner fender structure that would indicate that it was every equipped, there are also only the standard HVAC controls in the car. October 20, 200816 yr comment_263840 I can't say I've ever seen holes in that spot. I just looked through my hard drive at about 7 other S30 core supports. Most looked exactly like the one on my '72. The ones that are different had more holes, and slightly different configurations, but none like the ones you showed. Those don't look to be done by the factory.I'll hazard a guess at an aftermarket overflow tank bracket.
