JLPurcell Posted October 22, 2008 Share #1 Posted October 22, 2008 Les has found that I will need new floor pans. Can anyone recommend a good source? Has anyone used Zedd Findings floor pans? Any ideas? I am hoping to get them on the way tomorrow. Thanks JLP
geezer Posted October 22, 2008 Share #2 Posted October 22, 2008 I can only vouch for my own experience and it will vary somewhat from someone who needs the parts shipped a greater distance. I used the contact process that is set up online. Charley called me the next day, I sent out a cheque imediately and my floor pans were at my door the day after that. No complaints here. MikeW Posted October 22, 2008 Share #3 Posted October 22, 2008 While I haven't used them personally I can tell you from years of reading messages here that everyone who has ever used them thinks the Zedd Findings floor pans are top notch; you can't do better.http://www.datsunzparts.com/NewParts/summary.htmIt does surprise me that Les couldn't provide them for you directly ... Carl Beck Posted October 23, 2008 Share #4 Posted October 23, 2008 Les has found that I will need new floor pans.WHAT???...... he is just now finding that out???? Is this the same car you took out there last year or another one that you are having done??This blows me away.... I'd think he would know if the car needed floor pans within the first couple days it was in the shop. What gives?Carl B.
MikeW Posted October 23, 2008 Share #5 Posted October 23, 2008 (edited) I assume it's the same car that has been discussed all along. Specifically, this post, from a month ago, clearly shows that the floor pans have been stripped down and look to me, in the picture anyhow, to be in good shape:http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showpost.php?p=268363&postcount=68 Edited October 23, 2008 by MikeW
Travel'n Man Posted October 23, 2008 Share #6 Posted October 23, 2008 I have used the MSA floor panels. My body shop installed at the end of last year. Evidently they installed fine with no major challanges for the techs to work with.
MikeW Posted October 23, 2008 Share #7 Posted October 23, 2008 I have used the MSA floor panels. It's been well publicized that MSA has two kits:The standard kit:http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/SBC1B10A/30-7313The premium kit:http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/SBC1B10B/30-7317... and that the premium kit is from Zedd Findings.Which did you get? JLPurcell Posted October 23, 2008 Author Share #10 Posted October 23, 2008 It's been well publicized that MSA has two kits:The standard kit:http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/SBC1B10A/30-7313The premium kit:http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/SBC1B10B/30-7317... and that the premium kit is from Zedd Findings.Which did you get?Unless I get conflicting feedback it looks as if I will be getting the Zedd Findings pans. They look to be the same as the premium kit from MSA.Les suggested the Zedd Findings pans.As for Carl's question, I purchased a complete factory floor back in the 70's and had another shop start the restoration. When I went to see the pan installation they had cut up the floor pan and put it in, in pieces. Boy was I ever sick. I pulled the car out of that shop and let it set rather than have it restored poorly. I took the car to Les two years ago this December with the understanding that the car would be a fill in project for Les. So although he did get a quick start on the car he just got back on the project. When he stripped the floors and saw the installation, which I had warned him about, he decided that he would replace the badly installed pans. I just wish I could still get a full floor for the car. MikeW Posted October 23, 2008 Share #11 Posted October 23, 2008 Hi Mike:What is with the "View Single Post"..... I haven't seen that before...CarlOn the right side of every post in every thread is a post number that is actually a link to that specific post. I tried to post a link to the whole thread as well as the specific post with the pictures (#68) but it didn't work properly for me and I ended up editing my post to remove the link to the entire thread.
