October 24, 200816 yr comment_264304 Stephen, That almost makes up for living close to AL! Some guys have all the luck, we have one P&P(Cash-N-Carry) and they have a core charge on everything(glass, bumpers, upholstery seats...but you can't get the core charge back when you bring the old one back)-but the more you bring out the less they hunt for things to charge for...We have one other self service yard-but the owner-a crotchey old goat who could teach Rick a thing or two-thinks the vale of everything begins at $100(a decent set of luggage straps for example). His answer to wanting it for less is "it'll be here when you can't find it anywhere else-go put the sh!t back!" Needless to say there is a big pile of pulled parts right by the front gate. I check once a year or so to see if someone has dropped his sanity close enough for him to get it back, or someone has taken over. October 24, 200816 yr comment_264333 You guys suck. I haven't seen a Z in a Detroit area junkyard for over ten years. The best junkyard I ever went to was in Atlanta back in the early 90's. It's probably long gone now, but it was a Z-only JY and had what seemed to be hundreds of Z cars. It was right across the street from a Porsche-only JY. I was able to find a few things I needed, but most were too big to take back to Ohio. October 24, 200816 yr comment_264336 I was thinking the same thing Jeff.... You cannot find a Z anywhere in the Northeast, even a junker. I can't tell you how many boneyards I pass, since I drive around MA, RI, CT all the time for work. I stop in whenever I can, at any boneyard I see, while I'm on the road. Maybe 1 out of every 10 has any Series 1 Z's, and whats there is almost always complete junk. I guess we should be glad to own Z's in parts of the country where they are so rare, but what a bitch when you need an unavailable part. I got lucky and found a 79 ZX last week right in my hometown, so I grabbed the E12-80 dizzy ($50), but he's got nothing from 1970 - 1978. October 24, 200816 yr comment_264339 We don't see nearly as many of them out here in the junkyards and we did a few years ago. October 26, 200816 yr comment_264461 I only hit the major PNP's in So. Cal: the import only yard there by you Stephen, the two in Wilmington (Ecology and PaP), and the PaP in Sun Valley. I have found through experience that the PaP and Ecology near Buena Park are too small and almost never have S30/S130s.
