Mitchka Posted October 23, 2008 Share #1 Posted October 23, 2008 Has anyone tried them as a vendor yet? They make adjustable Camber Plates, and a really cool looking Coilover Conversion kit that lets you adjust the ride height of your Z. They use Eibach springs on the kits. Since I do SCCA rally racing, I'm looking at the coilover conversion, so I can lower my car at the meets, and put it back to stock for daily driving.www.ground-control.comhttp://www.ground-control-store.com/products/description.php/II=62/CA=93 (should bring you to the Datsun/etc menu)
rxsleeper Posted October 23, 2008 Share #2 Posted October 23, 2008 I have used their parts. High quality, good stuff. Set up of the car is not as simple as just raising and lowering your ride heights. You need to consider shock travel, camber settings, toe settings and your damping as well. I think if you search the forums for "camber plates" you will find a lot of information. The plates are not easy to install and require a lot of cutting and grinding to install correctly, especially if your cage is already in place. You might also look at Beta Motorsports camber set up as well. You will get caster adjustment in the BMS set up that the ground control kit doesn't do very well. It may provide a good alternative if you are daily driving your car.Either way, GC has been very good to work with and I have received GREAT customer service. I am sure John at BMS provides great service too!
conedodger Posted October 23, 2008 Share #3 Posted October 23, 2008 I had their suspension on my ex-Z. To a point it lets you adjust ride height. You should use the suspension adjustments to corner balance the car though. Choose your springs conservatively or you will not like street driving the car. I got mine when Ground Control was a installation and design firm selling their parts to other vendors. Now, Jay and company only mail order... They are still up the street from me.
