I have the same set up on my Z. 3-2 headers and MSA twice pipes.I had the twice pipes put on this past spring. I would recommend getting them put on like you are planning, by a professional. My pipes had to be heated and bent to fit right and the welding is a good idea to. They will hang a little low but you can have them raised up with the use of another bracket that will have to be welded. All and all I love them they look great and sound sweet. They are very loud but that is what I was going for. I think you will be happy with them. Good Luck Chris

Stephen and Rick, there is a discount for being a member here!

When you look at your public profile page, the address bar will have a 5-7 digit number. That's your Classic Zcar Club member number, and by giving it to MSA when you order they discount your purchase.

UPDATE: Well I just heard back from MSA, and the new total comes to $435. Which means that they took off about 10% for the club discount!

One area of concern, at least I think its important, is the thickness of the flanges......the existing intake manifolds are X thick and the MSA header flange is X thickness. Ideally, they should be the same so when secured and torqued, the fixing fastener pull straight. Obviously, if the flanges are of different thicknesses, the fixing fastener will not pull straight. When I installed my MSA (coated version) 6-3-2 headers on my 240, the flanges were slightly different so I machined reliefs on the fixing washers to acommodate the difference. Just some food for thought!

FedEx guy just dropped off the parts! He came yesterday morning, but I was in class.

So now, just like I promised, here are the unboxing pics.

The headers look great! And I can't wait to hear how those pipes sound.

No update yet. I'm currently out of town. I hope to get it all mounted by the end of next week (11/21).

It's my top priority with the Z right now, so I'll be sure to update when it happens!

Need to hear these and see pictures. I am contemplating ordering these. I have a 6-3-2 header on my car from MSA, so this would bolt right up.

Money Money Money, Money!

Will update as soon as it's done. Hours cut at work, mix up with Fin-Aid... Nothing's going well recently. But it's still top 'o the list!

It's nearly time! I went today and scheduled an appointment at Martin's Mufflers & Exhaust here in Bellingham for next Wednesday. They're going to put on the headers and weld-up the exhaust.

I also took a video of my current setup. I believe it's currently that stock exhaust that came on the car 40 years ago.

Please keep in mind it's winter up here so it was cold out, and the car was started just a few minutes before the clip. It's also filmed on a little subcompact digicam as I don't have an actual video camera.

Please do not call me a moron, but can you tell me how you linked to street fire and posted here. I will be posting pics of my ANSA tips next week as well...and never did figure out how to link it.
