Are the Boston Acoustic 4" speakers you installed two-way? If so, did you have any issues with reinstalling the 1/4 window and dog leg trim?

Yes, they are S45 two-ways. They are virtually flush, so they do fit behind the factory trim panels. I started with different speakers that were SUPPOSED to be flush and they were no where close. I had to send them back. Before I bought them, I specifically asked the Crutchfield sales guy if they protruded past the main cone and he said they'd fit fine. Luckily, they shipped the Bostons immediately rather than making me send the others back first.

So I finally added some Door pods for the Multiplying speakers in the 70'. There are 2) Apline SPS-500 5-1/4" 2-ways and 2) Kicker 400 4" 2-ways. One of each in each pod. The fit snug on the doors and under the dsh when the door closes. The sounds is incredible. And as big as they look, they don't interfere with any thing, legs, room, whatever.

So these, and the 2) Apline 6-1/2" 2-ways in the kick panel pods make 6 speakers up front and 2 in the rear make for 8 speakers, along with the 2) 10" subs in the rear.

Well I'm finally getting around to making my kick panel pods. I'm going the vacuum form rout with 1/8" ABS plastic

First pull was too cold. Also the pod location was too close to the dead pedal. I moved the pod up for the second pull and it was better but it's still too close.

I'm reworking the carpet covering section at the bottom and moving the pod up and back as far as I can go.

Hopefully pull #3 will be a charm!

So once you've got it all figured out and set, are you gonna offer them for sale? How much clearance is there for the Clutch pedal? I ask becasue I had an issue with the 260Z over the 240Z. I think it was the 260Z's clutch pedal that was an issue. It was a thicker steel and formed more toward the left, and went further down before cutting to the right, which made it hit the pod and the speaker.

So some test fitting will be needed to see what they fit and don't fit in.

I want to keep "Old-School" look in my interior & am interested in putting amp(s) behind seat & maybe running I-pod. Is there a way to do this without a head unit? If not, I may opt to put one in glove box.

Hot rodders do it all the time. It's called something like "Hidden Audio"... The tuner is mounted under the dash or seat, the remote or Controller is is either wired or infra-red and controls everything. The amps connect to the main unit. Amps must be used with it as it is only signals, and no internal amps like a regular radio. This makes it smaller and eaier to find a place to hide it.

Right now there is about 1/2" between the clutch pedal arm and the speaker grill. I can pick up more space by making the speaker flatter. As much as 1.5" if i go all the way flat. The biggest bugaboo for me right now is the interference with the dead pedal. It's my daily driver and I tend to have size 10 steel toes on when I drive so that's not making it any easier! The next pod move will make a big improvement.

And I guess it IS internally powered. So you can hook up regular speakers, or use an amp. I-pod ready etc, etc. Great for keeping that "Stock" look.

This is fantastic - I'm ready to buy when you have it right - let me know! A shallow speaker pod would be fine for me to allow as much room from the dead pedal and the cluch petal. Tunes up front would be perfect. Keep us tuned in once you get it right and get a jig set up to produce these! Fantastic work!!

I you should decide to knock out a batch of these, I would want to purchase a set. That really looks nice.
