Vintage Z for sale

Seeing this car makes me want to throw myself off a cliff. My Z is NEVER going to look that good :(

I suggest that everyone on this site pass the hat, take up a collection, and buy that car for me so that I wont die from shame

If we bought it for you, your Z would look that good!

If you threw yourself off a clif-the shame wouldn't kill you, it would probably be rapid deceleration trauma!

Unfortunately there are only a few with Zs that do look that good, but when mine gets there, I'll pitch in for yours!

Stephen,

I hear from Vicky about once or twice a month-but I do need to call her over the weekend-thanks for the reminder!

I hope she's doing well. I met she and her husband at one of the MSA shows a few years back and I recall talking music and cars for a while with Scott and Vicky. They seemed like such genuine and down to earth people and not having seen her on this site for quite a while, I just hope she's okay.

So who here boaught it? *grin*

My guess is it was probably a "collector". Very nice. In 5 years we just might see it on Mecuum's Auto Auctions TV program going for $80K!

Still, it's hard to believe it sold for that in today's economy.

Why would anyone use "buy it now" when the vendor was accepting offers. I find that strange.

I would think one would justify using the buy it now price instead of placing an offer to keep another person from using buy it now and buying it out from under them.

I just lost an auction today by $2.50 on a set of euro style lights for a 280 becasue my wife wanted me to take her out shopping for a new purse! I guess it wasnt meant to be..hopefully my wife will remember my sacrifice a little later :o

It sold for the BIT price. The buyer has purchased other cars from this seller. I imagine he was sitting out there going "should I or shouldn't I" like some of the rest of us and finally broke down.

My wife confessed she can't believe I didn't buy it. I can't either. I'm sure I'll regret it one day as this was one of the nicest VZ's made and you either love or hate the color.

The buyer has other Z's, so I imagine he'll hold on to this one for a while.

My bet is you'll see less and less of these on the market in the future and this price will seem like a bargain. Of course, I could be wrong!

Best,

Bob

I haven't heard a word about this, but then, I haven't asked, either. However, if this is true, the car sold for the BIN price, then what is being said about the value of these cars is holding true. The value is steadily increasing. Here is a perfect example of argueably 14% return on investment. Maybe more, depending on how you look at it. This is also a perfect example of what kind of car is trading at these prices. If, on the other hand, the car had sold for the eBay high bid, the sale would have represented a net loss. I think it is important to keep both of these viewpoints in mind. One, represents collector market value and the other is general market value. I suppose, true value floats somewhere in between.
