Exotic Super Cars like the McLaren (who are now getting their butts kicked all over the F1 circuits), Ferrari, Lamborghini and the like are without a doubt objects of envy. The more you spend the faster you go. That's a no brainer.

The real hat trick, thirty years ago, was the Datsun engineers producing a reliable sports car for a fraction of the cost for the above mentioned. Give me a Viper at half the price of Lamborghini. Getting more for less calls for "thinking out of the box."

You don't have to look far to see that same spirit today. I think the exercise shown here on this post, "the Ultimate Z," is a fine example. The many ideas here are really not that far from reach for the average Z owner. Hell, I know of a Z made almost entirely of junk yard parts that could run circles around a new Mustang.

Hey don't get me wrong I am not selling my car... And I know about the mustangs... and honda's But with that kind of jack I could find much bigger challenges than building a car.... I would pay someone else to build it, I will be glad to punish it... For now the car challenge is almost too big a challenge (financially)

a 1970 240 with a VG30DETT converted to a single greddy t-88 turbo (lookin for about 600 ponies) full roll cage, aluminum flat dash, carbon kevlar momos (maybe brides) with takata harnesses, lowered 2 inches, g-nose, zg flares& zg mirrors & a nice smallish spoiler at the back. Z32 turbo rear end (the whole deal) & either 15" watanabes or 17" focal f5s on z rated rubber (35s or 40s), painted forest green with a carbon fiber hood.
