Posted November 14, 200816 yr comment_266374 Hi everyone. I just signed up today and wanted to drop in and say hello.I have a 73 240 that I bought from the west coast and am in the process of getting it street worthy. The car only had 82,000 original miles when I got it, but had been sitting for about 20 yrs. without being cranked or moved. It belonged to a man that retired from a company and that was his retirement gift. He must have been a CEO or something. Anyway he drove it daily until his death. His wife said it was parked in their garage and she never moved it after his death. I found it by accident when a friend of mine told me about it and said he was friends with the lady. He knew I was looking for another Z and called me. I called her and the rest is history. The car was in pretty rough shape from sitting so long and I have been working on it for about a year. I am driving it daily, but it still needs alot of work. I am sure I will be asking a lot of question, cause I haven't had a Z since 1988. If anyone in the Atlanta area would like to contact me feel free to. I am probably going to join the GA Z club, I hear it has a lot of members and really nice people. November 14, 200816 yr comment_266375 Welcome to the club. You will find a wealth of information here . There are years of information archived and easily accessed through the search function. In any event feel free to ask away . There isn't much that hasn't been done with these Cars over the years. Good to have you aboard. November 14, 200816 yr comment_266389 Welcome Gene! You just missed the GA Z Club "show and shine" at Gwinnett Place Nissan this past Saturday. Unfortunately, all the 240Z's (except mine) stayed home this year (last year there were a bunch)! MikeW on this board is a member of the GA Z Club (and a good guy) and can tell you more about it.Good luck with your car, I'll keep an eye out for it when I am driving up that way in my MGB on nice weekends! We also have a couple of good Z mechanics down here (Eddie Radatz in Kennesaw and John Williams in Suwanee) who can take care of anything that proves to be too challenging! November 15, 200816 yr Author comment_266449 Thanks all for the welcome....and cunniwj as a matter of fact I am close friends with Bill's brothers Ernie and Dan. Their shop is only about 5 miles from my house. Bill has moved away to Blairsville, GA and we don't see him much anymore. If any of you get the chance, come visit the world famous Dawsonville Pool Room, probably the biggest collection of Bill Elliot memorabilia in the country. Thanks again for the welcome.Gene Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/29974-north-ga-z-car-lover/#findComment-266449 Share on other sites
