Heater cables - 73

Recommended Posts

Mike/Ron - I am not quite sure what I am looking for yet, but currently I have three hanging cables. Two on the drivers side and the longest one on the pass side.

I have their purposes figured out now (thanks to Graeme, Dan and an hour on my back), but at least need the screwdown cable/sheath clips (and screws) for the previously mentioned items.

Do you know if there are supposed to be any cable hangars on them?

Thanks

BTW - I have heat on the windshield now

The illustration in the Nissan parts manual is the same as Graeme posted. It doesn't show the cables or any "hangars". The associated parts number listings does not show any thing that could be described as a hangar or used to hold the cables in place either. Hopefully you only need to route the cables properly and fasten them. Take notes when you get it right in case I run into trouble putting mine back together. Seems to me I read a very old post covering this. Got you covered with the cable clamps & screws. PM me a mailing address and I'll try to get them to you before a Canada Post strike happens.

There should be FOUR cables.

Two to the left side of the heater plenum to control

A) Fresh Air or Heated Air

B) Room or Defrot

The two on the right side,

A) one goes to the plenum to control the Water Valve

B) goes to the Fresh Air Vent to open or close it.

For the most part, the cable sheaths should be stiff enough that once routed to their destination you shouldn't need anything to hold them up or in place.

FWIW
