The calendars are also available in our onine store.

And for those who aren't familiar with the magazine, go to http://classicmotorsports.net/try/

If you request one by Dec. 15, I think there's still a pretty good chance you'll get the Jan. issue with the calendar.

Hi Tim:

Thanks - I ordered a few extra Classic Motorsports Calanders from the on-line store.LOL

Found them listed under "Merchandise" in the Store..

FWIW,

Carl B.

I also just received my newest issue of Classic Motorsports magazine.

I noted the cover of the calender. That is Stacey driving her Dad's old Morgan (the purple helmet is a giveaway).

Then I see a beautifully restored 240Z. This "fanatic" restored it. :classic:

Congrats, Carl.

P/S I assume that Pete Brock is not Peter Brock (who helped design the Shelby Cobra Coupe)??

Here is a picture of Peter Brock when I meet him a couple of years ago:

Hi Doc:

Thanks - that picture was taken by Mr. Brock, and it is a great shot. He did a photo shoot with the car last March at Amelia for Classic Motorsports.

Yes, that's the same Peter Brock that designed the 1963 Corvette Sting Ray (originally drawn around 1957 as I recall), and designed the Cobra Daytona Coupe while at Shelby America. He also did design work for Toyota, Triumph, Hino and several others. As mentioned above, he has a Web Site now, on which he and his wife are publishing a lot of historic information from his personal archives. It's a neat site http://BRE2.net

Tell us more about Stacey and her Dad's old Morgan...

Tell us more about Stacey and her Dad's old Morgan...

Stacey's Dad is "Super Dave" Bowden. I have raced with him for years in his Morgan. He bought his first Morgan while stationed on a ship of the U.S. Navy, off the coast of England.

You would definitely call Dave a Morgan fanatic. He now races a Royal while handing the wheel of the Morgan over to Stacey. I know he owns at least one street Morgan (maybe two).

Dave has befriended B. S. Levy (author extraordinar). Bert has written of his co-drive experiences with Dave. I have each of Bert's books, his most famous is The Last Open Road. Basically, Bert draws a fictional story around factional events of the early years of road racing.

Same guy. BRE = Brock Racing Enterprises

I should have known that. My passion has always been road racing so I have an excuse (the payment is the fastest way around a track :D). :stupid:

I meet Peter by chance. I was going to Road Atlanta to instruct a new driver when I saw Peter's (replica) Coupe parked outside a nearby dealer. I swung in to look, and Peter walked out of the building.

He couldn't have been nicer. We even went to lunch (Wendys :) ).

I am the guy in the white shirt, Pete in white pants, and two guys I didn't know.

Carl,

Congrats on the calender.

Can't wait to see the car again, next year at Amelia.

I for one am glad that the optional photo with Carl topless was NOT included in my calendar.:P

gnosez,

The wife  and I were there that cold windy day. So I have a couple of photos from the shoot that day on my camera. :classic:

I will send you a copy of the topless photos and the bikini photos of Carl laying on the hood. ROFL

Just got my December issue of Classic Motorsports and in it a 2009 Classic Motorsports Calender. The January Pin-Up Girl is none other than Carl Beck's Brock Desert Race Car...

I realize it is almost April now, but the Classic Motorsports both had a ton of these calendars at the Amelia Island show and gave me about 20 of them at the end of the day. If anyone wants one I can send it to them for the cost of shipping. I should have asked Carl to autograph all of the January pages first :).
