This winter I'm putting in a 5-speed/R-180 4.11 combo. While the car is laid up, I'm going to replace all the rear suspension bushings, struts, springs, etc. and undercoat the whole car. While all the rear suspension parts (control arms, mustache bar, diff carrier, etc.) are off, I'm planning to powdercoat them. I'm looking for color ideas, anyone got pics to share to help me decide? I'm leaning toward gun metal gray.

I painted mine gloss black. Can't show you any pics sorry as the bits aren't back on the car yet...sheesh.

Silver & Black. Satin black for suspension components. Powder coat is better than paint, (I painted mine).

Natural aluminum for the transmission. Not sure about the correct colors for the diff, but I'm thinking black for the steel case and natural aluminum for the back cover.

Ditto, except I would say that powder coated or painted to look like natural aluminum is my preference for the trans & diff cover.

You can look at pix of the process my dad and I went through on his current resto. We did everything in satin black urethane. Looks great IMO. Lots of before and afters here

The black looks great, problem is, my car still has the old undercoating. I didn't go as far with my restoration, mine was more of a very thorough refurb. So I think I should go with a color (like gray) so that the suspension can be seen against the black (undercoating) background. If the underside of my Z looked like that , and was body color, I'd keep all the suspension stuff black too.
