Does anyone know if the resistance range on the sending unit on the 240 vs 280 is similar?

Reason I'm asking is that I'd like to swap out the combo ammeter/fuel guage on my 240 for the fuel/voltage gauge from a 280z. Hopefully, the resistance range is similar.

Reason I'm doing this is that I've routed the ammeter charge wire direct to the battery instead of the thru the ammeter in the car. I had excessive voltage drop coming into and out of the car interior.

BTW, I did route it directly thru an inline fuse. It perked up the charge voltage at idle substantially.
