hey everyone need some help on a decsion regarding a trade...

i own a clean 1976 280z great running, all stock, 130k mileage, ac cold, original title, no rust.

should i trade it for this dirty raced out 280zx?...

im confused because all of the mods and parts should be worth more than my car.. please give me your opinion much appreciated thanx.

Me personally? No way. But I don't know what your end goal is. If you are wanting a hopped up Z(X), maybe it's a good starting point. But in the long run, a clean, well maintained mostly stock 280Z will hold its value better than a modified rat rod ZX.

Before I bought my 240Z I looked at a couple 280Zs, and ZXs. This is just my personal feeling, but the ZX look just a bit too "back to the future" for me. The interior had "the 80's" written all over it. On the other hand, the 240 was way cool... retro, throw back cool. Like a old school fighter plane (did I mention it was in a hanger?). But I was buying the car knowing it was going to be a Saturday night/Sunday morning cruiser, not a racer.

Based on how you described your car "great running, all stock, no rust", I think you already know the answer. A clean 280Z or a "dirty, raced out" ZX...no brainer. Keep the 280Z.

That 280 ZX has probably been beat to death. And at least personally, I prefer the look of an S30 over an S130 any day.

No way! The 280zx is not and will never be anything in comparison to any S30.

Of course, that is my personal opinion (along with many others).

I agree with what everyone else said. Keep the 280Z....

No way!!! I had zx and in my book it is not a z car...

Buy the ZX and keep the 280. I have a 240 and a ZX and enjoy them both.

The ad says $1800 OBO - go low and maybe have both. Sounds like there are some interesting goodies on the ZX. If it was here I would make a lower offer and keep my other toys.
