Were these designed for the US market, the second picture (above) reminds me of big American vehicle's of the 80's (the boot area)

Nope - they were only sold in Japan and a couple of European countries.

Definitely influenced by popular American design of the time though, like many Japanese cars of the era.

all those are coupes only about 2-3 left overhere what about the 4 door ones ?heres my one after 6 months of welding and brake rebuild

I have not seen a 4-door in my area but there are two Coupes around. Supposed to be another Coupe but I have not seen it. One of the Coupes had PA10 tail lights! Must have had a rear end shunt and can't find original lights
