I have a 1973 240z, and it seems like the doors are not opening they way they should. I did replace the door seals and for a while you had to slam the doors to get them to close, but now you just have to firmly close it and it latches all the way.

The problem is when you go to open the door, you have to push the door in while pulling the door handle up. From the inside all I have to do is pull the handle and the door springs open. Is this common or is there some adjustment I can do to fix this? I would think you could just lift up on the door handle from the outside and it would open. I have this problem with both sides, passenger and driver.

Thanks,

Richard

try adjusting the striker plate/catch around a little.Put a glob of grease on the door latch and gently clost till you feel the first point of contact between the catches, open and see where the grease is,this will tell you which way to move your plate and such.
