December 24, 200816 yr Author comment_269601 dont have too many of the gold 70 I just bought the car but what I can tell you is that the interior is a 8.5 out of 10 and its got a good bit of money thrown into the fuel system. its got a stock T3 turbo but in the pics below you'll see a T04e that I will be replacing it with and when I mount the turbo I will be locating an external 38mm gate anf then retuning it through the Haltech. Welcome to the forum youll laugh if I told you that the previous owner painted the car with several cans of the .96 cent flat black in the blue cans @ walmart and though that paint lays quite well, it still has a very narrow spray pattern. so I re-did some with the same paint but in small areas and then lightly sanded it with a 320 sponge then got a trusy rag and a can of WD40 and wiped the whole car down until its not greasy to the touch. funny thing is this chunky chick at the local get togethers here in south florida found out the hard way that you can not sit on a fender dowsed and polished in wd40 , she slid off that fender like six flags atlantis. Actually, I wouldnt laugh! About 15 years ago, I bought a 4 yr old Supra from a dealership, the salesman was a good friend of my brother-in-laws. He told me it was the stereotypical little ole lady car, Targa, red, looked perfect. I plopped down $10,500 and proudly drove it home. About a week later, pulled in a car wash, washed it, pulled out to dry it off and the entire top of the car was flat, dull as he!!. I called the number for assistance at the car wash and the owner drove right over. I said "look at what your car wash did to my car! Was it squirting out engine clean instead of soap?" He looked at it, said it was oxidized! Told me of the WD-40 trick a dealer uses. Then he pulled a bottle out of his truck, sprayed, wiped and it looked nice and shiny again! Needless to say, I drove back to the dealer, bitched up a storm to the guy to on avail. The 5 day rule had passed and basically I was stuck with the car. They "claimed" they didnt do it, the "little ole lady" did! I drove it 7 months and hated that car the whole time! I ended up trading it for $7,000, $500 a month for a used car..not one of my better deals Regardless, I like the look of it..and I agree, serves the girl right Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/30320-sunny-south-florida/#findComment-269650 Share on other sites
