Posted January 3, 200916 yr comment_270175 01-03-2009 04:49 AM Bride seats are one of the mainstays of the JDM tuner scene.* They come in loud, lairy colours like bright red and blue, and would be the perfect addition to something like a turbo Silvia or modern GT-R (with the matching grey and charcoal trademark Bride fabric on the door cards and rear seat of course).* However, for classics, unless you’re going for the resto-mod look, Brides are they’re a little bit too out of character for our old classics. Until now. Called the Histrix, Bride has just released a low-backed, hardshell motorsport seat that wouldn’t look out of place in your Hakosuka or RX-3.* The Histrix is trimmed in leather, with round vent-holes in the seatback that are very reminiscent of competition seats in the 60s and early 70s.* The shellback is “super aramid” (I think that means carbon fibre), and I’m sure that, like all Bride seats, those of us with an…um…”fuller” figure will not fit.* The Histrix retails for about US$1500 in Japan.
