Dan how is the car coming along?

The cars' looking real good, Clive. Thanks for asking. It is basically done except for making a set of carpets to original quality and appearance, mounting the NOS exhaust system I have collected, and putting all the braided hoses on under the hood. My goal is extreme originality which is a very slow process when it comes to finding all the correct parts.

Its all about the process for me, though, so it may be a bit of a let-down when completed.

Clive, I think someone on this site has reproduced those early plastic inspection lid clips. Not sure who, but someone should chime in with that info.

Dan

I checked into that when I first got my Z because I too have broken plastic clips. Unfortunately that reproduction is old news and they are NLA unless someone is selling their own.

Just swap the inspection lids for newer one's. You aren't keeping it stock anyway..

Carl B.

Car will not be stock but I would like to keep some of its unique features.

Dan, glad to hear and glad some of my parts made it to really good homes/cars! =)

Anyone have any idea or clues on that "Japan" sticker that is on the tail light panel?

That's a custom decal / emblem that indicates the car is Japanese or that the PO had some sort of fondness for Japan. Prolly NLA from the early days of Wallmart.

What's with all the cotton all over the ground?

What cotton? Oooo you mean the snow! It was keep the car safe from the hard ground. LOL

I am glad I got the car before it sat outside for it's third winter. It was covered the entire time so that is a plus.

Filipe, I wish I had the time/money to make a resto car that I would be scared to death to drive. Plus I got rid of a lot of my series 1 parts over the past few months and now I would have to buy them all over. The car will be a restomod and done nicely! Silver with euro bumpers just to give you an idea.
