Kas,

Were you able to download the FSM?

I had better luck putting the injectors in the fuel rail and then installing them in the manifold.

A little WD 40 or light oil on the O-Rings & fuel rail will help seat the injector. If you keep the injectors warm is will be easier to work with the injector hoses.

Take your time, it may take a few test fits to get the injector clip positions right (so you can get the clips on and off ).

Is that what you're asking about?

I had to do this fun job on mine about a year ago. Funny thing with mine was my fuel rail developed a hair line crack right at the weld just before my new injectors, 0 rings, holders, ect. came in the mail. Turned out to be a blessing though because that would have pissed me off after going through all that work, then having to tear it all back apart and replace the rail. Definitely got lucky on that deal LOL Since I had everything apart I did everything at once (Did All fuel injected rated fuel hoses, clamps ect.) Trust me this is not a job you want to be doing again anytime soon :D I won't lie to you it requires lots of patients.

This is one of those jobs where it will help you greatly to have a F.S.M. (Factory Service Manual) with diagrams. It's tough to go over every little detail over the computer as there are lots of little steps but I'll try :)

I'm not sure about how much you already know but first off it will help if you can depressurize the fuel system. I cheat on this :devious: I have a fuel shut off switch and I activate that and run the motor till it dies. There is a correct procedure to do this In the F.S.M. but I can't remember the steps off the top of my head. Some people don't bother and just break the hoses loose which I don't recommend. If you do this, be sure you wear safety glasses :nervous: Then of course remove the necessary hoses and remove the screws/bolts securing the main fuel rail in place and the fuel pipes that go to the injectors. Being you got new factory Nissan parts like I did, the new Nissan Injectors come with the new rubber hose already installed on the injectors so do like I did. Instead of fighting to get the hoses on the injectors seperated from the fuel pipes, simply cut the hoses at the center (Be careful if you do this though so you don't hit the tip of the "stems" on the pipes that the injector hoses go onto.) then remove the wire connectors off each injector, remove screws securing injectors to intake remember patients here :) remove old injectors and holders. Now install the new top & bottom 0 rings onto new injectors. You will want to apply a light oil on new 0 rings (I used 3 in 1 oil on mine.) before you install them on the new injectors. Then install your new injectors and new injector holders, secure all six in place with the screws, reinstall the fuel pipes & rail (I highly recommend that you replace ALL the fuel hoses that connect the fuel rail and fuel pipes togeather at this point since they are all aged as well and replace them with high pressure F.I. 5/16 fuel hose only with new clamps) Like I said before, you won't want to be taking on this job again for a good long while :) Then I recommend giving your wire connectors a real good cleaning before you reinstall them on injectors. I useda product called DeOxit by Caig which worked awesome. It's the best in my personal opinion. Then after you've put everything back in place like it was prior to disassembly you should now be enjoying a smooth running L-28 :D The first time you try to start her will bea little tough as it will have to rebuild fuel pressure obviously. After 5 seconds, lay off starter to give it a break then retry again. I did it that way to save on my starter and mine fired up on the second try.

Hopefully I covered most of it for you. Others on here that have done this job like me will chime in with good pointers as well.

Best of luck, Jared

A couple of differences in how I do it. I use my 9 volt injector test tool to bleed off the fuel pressure at the cold start valve. That also has the added advantage of leaving a little fuel in the intake for when you put it back together and start it. I also prefer to remove all of the injectors with the fuel rail but this may be easier on a 78 and later because the fuel rail is one piece without the rubber hoses connecting it like the earlier models had. Whichever route you choose, be as thorough as possible like Jared said. It's not a job you want to do often.

Thanks for the info. I will work on it this weekend. how do i install the adaptor to the injectors so the the adaptor can hold the inject in place. i can i remove broken bolt. i broke three of the bolt when i was removing the old injectors. these bolts are still in the hole

Bolts??? Should be philips scews securing the injectors in place. At least thats what mine had and my Z is 100% stock under the hood so you got me scratching my head there LOL. Anyway that is a common problem. I was very careful when I cranked on mine for the first time. I gave them a small shot of penetrating oil, let it sit over night then turned very carefully and slow and thank god none of mine broke :paranoid:

Yeah, I have no quick easy answer for you on this unfortunatly. Sounds to me like your going to have to get yourself a good tap & die set.

After I removed the screws from the injectors I replaced them with stainless steel hex head screws on both the Z and the 810. I also put some anti-sieze on them. I broke one of the original screws on the Z and and after getting the broken piece out I wasn't about to put the remaining old screws back in. What adapter? There's an injector holder, an injector holder heat insulator, two rubber seals (one large, one small) that are sometimes mistakedly referred to as O rings even in the FSM, and the screw plate.
