240z Seats: Gap Between Top & Bottom

Mine had a little more of a gap after replacement but as previously mentioned it does add some more ventilation.

I purchased my seat kits from MSA as well. Started with the passenger seat. Large gap that looks odd. When I got around to drivers seat I reread the instructions supplied and they actually mentioned the gap issue. They suggested placing wedge shaped foam on the bottom cushion and in the seat back. I looked at the foam that came out and sure enough there were foam wedges. When they were in place the gap was gone. The instructions are terrible and you have to fill in the blanks as it was obviously written by a non english speaking person.

On a side note, I did not replace the webbing on the pasenger seat and did on the drivers. It was non existent. I now sit about 2 inches higher than previously. It is a good thing I am bald!

Do you mean there were foam wedges that came out from the old cushion? Or were there foam wedges that came with the new cushion? There were no foam wedges that came with the cushions I bought from Mortorsport. Oh well, I guess I can deal with the gap.

The wedges came out of the old upholstery.

The other issue I had was the thin foam that was glued to the back of the seat. Rotten as all get out and not accounted for in the kit from MSA.

overall I have to say I am not impressed with any of the aftermarket upholstery kits offered. The carpet kits are far inferior to original. You have to cut out your own slots so tehy won't slide. It took 4 headliner kits to get it correct. The material separated from the foam each and every time.
