So it is way too cold to work in my garage this week, so I opened a couple of part boxes to fix/clean/sort parts that I will use. While trying to piece together a pair of signal lights out of all the sad broken sets I have I came across one that is not the same as the rest. As seen in the photos it is the right one which has two bulbs and a divider between each half which fits into a slot on the lens. It has a IKI part number 3031 and the rest are 3005.

I wonder how it ended up on one of the cars I have stripped, I did not keep track of which of the four it came from. The divider is quite rusted, i suspect it is because there was no light socket in the second hole to stop the water from getting inside.

In Australia the 260Z, which first came on the market in the second half of 1973 had the lights with the divider and 2 bulbs. There was a white light for the parking light and an orange light for the turn signal.

The outside lens cover was clear with an orange glass inside on the turn signal side of the light. This light was introduced due to a change in the vehicle design rules in 1973 where by turn signals had to be orange and parking lights white. Previously the 240Z had a single bulb white turn and parking light housing.

That one is not for a North American market Z. Other markets had separate bulbs for the parking lights.

So I agree that the body of this light is for a market that requires a separate bulb for the parking light, but everything I read points to each having a different color bulb and a clear lens. Why would this light have two bulbs and a amber lens so both are the same color?
