Posted January 27, 200916 yr comment_272271 I bought my first Z last Thursday. 1981 280 ZX Turbo (blue with silver hood). Aired up the tires, comalonged it onto a trailer and hauled it home. By the time I got it home, 3 of the tires were flat again. I was told by the PO that it needed a fuel pressure regulator and rack and pinion. Put new battery in next day and when I tried to start # 2 injector hose leaked. It looks like the hose is factory made onto the injector. Can that be cut off of the injector and replaced or do I have to buy a new one? I have a little work to do on the car but it will be fun and even more fun to drive. I had a buddy that had a new 82zx and a new 84 300zx so I know they are fun to drive. Of course, that was almost 30 years ago. I'm planning on keeping it stock and look forward to enjoying this site. I will post pics if the ice storm will let up. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/30627-47-yrs-old-and-just-bought-my-first-z/ Share on other sites

January 29, 200916 yr comment_272424 wow 2 people posted and did not answer your question.Yes you can cut the rubber line off of the injector. You will also want to cut the brass crimp off as well, then you can replace the line with new high pressure injector hose and just use a clamp at the injector.Have fun and good luck! January 29, 200916 yr comment_272453 Glad to have you on board. This site will end up being you first go to, to find out answers. During my two year restoration I was pulling up info on a daily basis. There is a ton of knowledge within the members and within the "search" features. You may always want to search your questions first and then if you need to pinpoint a questions start a new thread, odds are somebody has already "peeled that onion" before you.Enjoy yourself and good luck on your '81 ZX Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/30627-47-yrs-old-and-just-bought-my-first-z/#findComment-272453 Share on other sites
