newbie intro... great site...

love the site here guys - anyway, my name is jay - i'm in northern california and have been a fan of zs for a while, but only an owner for 2+ years...

i have a 1971 (series i - with the hatchback vents vin in the 13,000s) 240 - bright orange - completely original (with the exception of the 31 year old mags the original owner - guy before me - put on..) still have the stock rims and caps in boxes (never been put on) -

bought it from a guy who owned the datsun dealership in marin county back in '70 and he had the foresight to order all the original logos in duplicate along with all the weather stripping... (also sitting in boxes)

its in virtually perfect condition (interior is immaculate with the exception of a worn bead on the seat - minor detail) just needs a paint job as someone banged up the rear many moons ago and repainted only portions of it - badly... this thing has been babied for 32 years now (manufactured in 11/70)

hope to learn a bunch here - thanks again - my goal is to put it in show condition next summer... i'm just hesitant to put the original 'caps on because its my daily driver (10 miles a day) and i don't want them stolen...

Great find!! I have a 71 with a build date of 11/70 as well. Vin number 14749, a friend of mine has one with the same build month with a VIn of 13724. Mine was originally orange (ugh) soon to be 110 Red.

Sounds like there are a few of November 1970's cars that have been taken care of in their long life. :classic:
