February 1, 200916 yr Author comment_272754 Suspense release time… yes it’s a Triumph TR 3A – picture below. Chris I vent to summit the papers in order to pay the registration tax expecting a lot of bureaucracy and processing time of 3-4 weeks, but was very pleased to learn that it only took about 5 minutes. Because the car is over 35 years old the registration tax is based on the original price of the car in 1973 – it all ends to a total registration tax of DKK 13655 ($2350) Your right – The picture is not from Nørrebronx The car is at my parents place on Fyn. YIEKS!!! The car only cost about $4600.00 new in 1973!!So much for free trade....FWIW,Carl B. February 1, 200916 yr comment_272761 Carl we have to pay 180% in registration tax, of the total cost of the car when it enters our country, yes that is outrages. I bought my car for $1300, then the total shipping for a 40ft container include various fees was $6000, seperated on 3 cars and then registration tax on top of that, so it will end up in $5500 + expences to have it on the road. Another way the calculate registration tax is to take 60% of the sales value of a similar car, luckely the cars are above 35y as Lars stated above. Lars, i got the same quote on mine, DKK 13.755.00 well almost, i do also have a newer car Chris Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/30649-my-240z-project/?&page=2#findComment-272761 Share on other sites

I only paid $2800 for the whole car when I bought mine over 6 years ago.DaveNice insight into the world of car electrics – an area that always seems like black magic to me:confused: Actually it's more like White Magic, which in some circles, is Stronger than Black Magic. Either way, Look into my upgrades, they'll work on your US based 240Z and make a world of difference on the lights. And I do ship World Wide. Plus a little more for shipping, of coarse.PM me if you're interested,Dave. February 2, 200916 yr comment_272893 TuomoI had to smile when I saw that you come from Finland – I acquired some Finnish friends in connection with my studies, who seemed very fond of a 50/50 mix of vodka and cognac. Crazy but very nice guys. I guess You need something to keep you warm during the winterLOLMust be quite a mixture that 50/50! Never tried. Probably more favorit nearour Russian (=eastern) borderROFL. About keeping warm - in London there is now 10-20 cm snow and propably colder than here (-0,6 C). We have triple glazing and thick walls:D My Zed unfortunately stays over winter in a cold carage:cry: Edited February 2, 200916 yr by Zenioric Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/30649-my-240z-project/?&page=2#findComment-272893 Share on other sites
April 7, 200915 yr Author comment_280079 Time for an update! The 16th of March I started on my new job and therefore do not have so much time to work on the car – my bank though, is very relieved Well – back to the car - I got my windscreen wipers to work perfectly and the seats back from the upholstery guy, then last Friday I paid the registration tax and went back home to my parents place where I have the car. The wheels needed some attention which included some power tools and a lot of sandpaper in the following order – grid 80, 120 and 240 dry, 500 and 1000 wet – to finish it up some aluminum polish. Some before and after pictures below. Sunday was a nice and sunny day so I washed the car and I am very pleased with the final result Monday I was back in Copenhagen and went to get my number plates and Thursday I will go back to my parents for Easter – and the first drive in the finished car:cool: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/30649-my-240z-project/?&page=2#findComment-280079 Share on other sites
