Any Aussies looking for a mint condition early dash check out the OzDat website, the guy is asking $800.00 I cant recall seeing one in this condition for a very long time so I don't know if this price is realistic but for anyone looking to show their car it's got to be worth a look.

Lee, you mentioned that you have several 240Zs. Where did you find them? I've been after one for ages but they're very thin on the ground in W.A. Any clues greatly appreciated... You can email me at hayden.long@bhpbilliton.com

Hey halz,

You still holding out for a 240Z?

If you are at all interested in 260s, there were about 3 new 260 coupes in the quokka this week. The most I've vere seen at one time in WA. All seemed very cheap (2K or thereabouts), but the way they all said "good restoration project" is a bit worrying:ermm:

Might be worth a look though.

Yeh, still managing to depress myself! I made an offer on a 240 in Sydney but the cost of transporting it to the west plus the work required to fix a broken diff mount and dodgy rust repairs meant that the offer was borderline insulting! I'll try again in a month or two and see if he's sold it. There was another one for sale in Dianella a few months ago...not sure if it ot sold - it was certainly overpriced at $12.5K.

What papers do you look in for 240/260s apart from the Quokka, the West and the Sunday times?

Wow $12.5K, now that is getting pricy. I'm assuming it had probably been stripped down and totally repainted for that price.

In terms of lokking for Zs in WA, I only check the quokka and Sunday times. If any other local source compares to these two I'd be very surprised.

Some other local Z people I've spoken to are of the opinion that most 240Zs are sold thru word of mouth. ie If you see a 240 somewhere go and have a yarn to the owner and leave you details with them "just in case".

Another offbeat plan is to try out in the country. There seems to be an outward movement of cars into the country as they get older and cheaper. If you occasionally check the regional papers from Albany, Kalgoorlie, Geraldton etc you might get lucky. Kalgoorlie would be good, pretty dry out there!

Prices in SA seem to be through the roof, if you can find them. I've seen two in the last couple of months that were in the $12-$14k bracket. One was immaculate, and had every conceivable mod and other had been restored to factory.

Haven't seen and since though, only 2+2's.

R.
