Peter:

I realize this is a 2 1/2 year-old thread, but I am looking for the same thing you are...how to install a Webasto sunroof in a 240Z. I'm sure I'm not the only guy on here who thinks the Zs are hot during the summer, and I think a sunroof would make a fun car even more so. I recently saw an MGB GT that had one of these roofs and I was impressed with how it worked and looked. The owner said it doesn't leak (and not many Zs are driven in the rain, anyway :) and works well. I found a couple of MGB Webasto roofs on Ebay UK and I may buy one. The roofs can be refurbished by a couple of different shops in the UK for a reasonable fee. I'm waiting on more info from the shop owners over there to tell me if the MGB kit will fit in a Z and what the cost is. The 240Z Webastos are hard to come by as not many were sold.

I personally would never cut my roof, BUT if you already have a 'Cheesy' sunroof from the 70's, 80's -THIS would be a great upgrade!
