i just got hold of a 78 280z to take what i need for the swap. can anyone tell me what i need, or better yet make me a list of all the parts i may need. since me and my friends are doing the swap, what kind of problems can we expect.and also what mods would we have to do. remember the is a coupe into the 2+2. if anyone can help would appreciate it.

To clarify, the correct driveshaft to use is the one already in the 2+2. You need the extra length. The 2+2 driveshaft will fit the five speed just fine.

i heard that one of the transmissions is longer. and by using the 2+2 driveshaft , you mean the one i have or an other one one from a 2+2 manual.

The transmissions are all the same length. Use the driveshaft you already have. All '74-78 2+2 driveshafts are the same length, regardless of transmission.
