Fuel line (searched)

To those much smarter than I,

I am replacing my fuel line (line 1 on the Service bulletin) from my tank to the fuel pump and my fuel regulator. While I am at the FR I was going to change the 3 lines out that connect to it (9,10,11 in the Service bulletin) because I anticipate and issue rot maybe. Any how the the auto parts store only carries standard size line.:stupid: What size standard line should I purchase to be good to go?

Whenever I have gone to the auto parts store looking for hose, I take the part of the car it will be going to with me just to make sure. After all, there is enough of a difference between 5/16 and 1/4 to make fitment an issue-and if we are talking about fuel lines, that is not an issue I wish to deal with...

In your case, you could take the Fuel Pressure Regulator in and match to that. As I recall, the outlet side of your fuel pump is the same diameter. The Inlet side is different though. Also, make certain that you get fuel line labeled specifically for Fuel Injected engines. I had a clerk try to sell me non-EFI rated hose once...

Taking a look at the 1976 service bulletin

Line 1 should be 1/2" hose nothing special here.

Lines 9, 10, 11 and all the rest should be 3/8 Fuel Injection hose.

You need special FI hose for everything after the fuel pump.

Due to the higher pressure being produced from the pump.

:nervous:Here is my 2 Cents :nervous:

Go ahead and get 1 1/2 feet of the 1/2 hose.

About a foot of the 3/8 FI hose and replace all hoses on the fuel rail while you have it unbolted.

Also go to napa and pick up the 1/2" inline filter.

Napa Gold Filter PN: 3299

Place this between your pickup line and your fuel pump. This will keep crap from gettin to the pump. 4.00 investment.

1. I drained my fuel tank

2. Added a (FI) filter after the tank and before the FP used new F.I. rated fuel line

3.Took the cap off (BA fuel pump)and looked for any yuck (none found) put back the seals and spinner put the cap back on tighten the bolts.

4.Changed the fuel filter

5. changed the pressure regulator.

made sure everything was tight and sealed.

Now I can not get the car to start it turns over but nothing tried to cough (almost start) a couple times at first but not since and yes I put gas in the tank about 2 gallons.

Need some help.

The only thing I can think of is that I did not put the fuel pump back together correctly but it looked like it only went together one way.

If your pump is put together wrong it will not work properly. I have pictures of how it gets lined up if you still need them. Did you say you checked the intake screen on the fuel pump? You may need more fuel in the tank to get the FI system flushed through. You also should check you fuel pressure you need at least 36 psi after the filter or you won't get enough fuel to throttle it up.
