Ausz Posted February 7, 2009 Share #1 Posted February 7, 2009 I have a series 1 240 Z. I need a new windshield. If I order one from Nissan will it be correct with the markings etc. Or should I look for a used one?
Arne Posted February 7, 2009 Share #2 Posted February 7, 2009 Here in the US, new Nissan windshield (when available) now have a darker tinted band across the top which the original 240Z glass do not have. I also suspect the markings will be different than the original, but can't say for certain. Since good used original glass is hard to find, and easily damaged in shipping, I went with an aftermarket windshield when I replaced mine. I didn't want the tinted band at the top. hls30.com Posted February 7, 2009 Share #4 Posted February 7, 2009 I couldn't get one from the dealer, so I bought aftermarket and a DIY acid etch kit-just print the pattern with a laser printer on the included film tape on and apply the included paste...Will
Arne Posted February 8, 2009 Share #5 Posted February 8, 2009 Last spring when I painted my car, my dealer said there were several of the tinted-band Nissan windshields available. I had no problems at all finding a new, non-tinted-band aftermarket windshield.
