Hi All

I know that some time ago, Zedsaver made them (i guess) and still have them for sale. But if necessary i will lend my one to reproduced.

Will i also bought 2 Rally Cloks, one spare and one of them (the spare) has the 1 knob, if you want i might lend it as well, but i only have them in few weeks, mat be 2 or 3 at the most.

Question if people are willing to share information: What are you using to cast reproduction parts? I've looked in to making parts from simple latex molds but all of the resins I find are not UV-resistant and will fade over time. Are folks just painting the parts with a UV-resistant interior paint to get around that issue?

Thanks!

I tried Latex, but it shrinks and moulds made from it do not last. Now, I am using silicone molds and casting with urethane-treating the castable material and the filled mould to vacuum to ensure no bubbles in the cast parts-and to get all of the detail... The raw urethane parts will chalk if left in the sun, painting the mold before pouring the urethane does make the parts more UV stable, and the wet paint contacting the liquid uretahne and hardening under vacuum makes the color stick lick you can't believe!

FilipeA-I have the clock knob to make a mould of, as my clock is packed up, I have not done it yet mostly because of out of sight out of mind...

I'll dig it out and see what I can do-I need a second knob, and I knoe Ron (Geezer) needs one too-along those lines the knob (27385-P8100) from a 280ZX clock is a passable look-a-like, and even more difficult to find is the retaining screw-it is a tiny little monster with a big shoulder.

You are right about people sitting on these in their stash and not willing to part with them. They are just like the other hard to find parts, if you are patient, one will turn up sooner or later. I think this thread may put you in touch with a few leads. Good Luck

Yes...I know. I just sold two ash trays. So, Will...do you still need the knobs?
