February 12, 200916 yr comment_273929 The e12-80 can be used with MSD,and has the best performance timing curve compared to earlier dizzy,s http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24079&highlight=msd+e12-80 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/30799-msd-6a-do-i-use-the-e1280-or-not/#findComment-273929 Share on other sites

February 12, 200916 yr comment_273959 He's talking about the module itself. The distributor has the timing curve set mechanically. The module just amplifies the signal from the stator/reluctor and sends it to the coil. I would remove the module from the system just because it is another point of failure. If you take the red and green wire and hook them to the Ford trigger pigtail on the MSD it works fine. Then you can keep the module and a pigtail that fits the C and B on the distributor to the coil in the glovebox. This way, if your MSD takes a crap, you can very easily switch back to the stock ignition and keep driving. March 20, 201213 yr Author comment_384789 just a question for mr j mortensen ,finally getting around to removing the e-12-80 module , to be honest I forgot about it , so you said to use the msd alone ,I have the ford pigtail and the colors in it are green and purple . in my zx dissy I have red and green that comes from the module.so I think you mean to wire green to green and red to purple would just like to check thanks kurt Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/30799-msd-6a-do-i-use-the-e1280-or-not/#findComment-384789 Share on other sites
