July 19, 200915 yr comment_289906 Hi Dennis / Dan - everyone:Thanks for digging back into the archives - - I guess at some point I mentally merged the words in the Owners Manuals with the pictures in the Service Manuals. Drives me crazy when I'm sure I remember something, but then can't find it...Nonetheless - once I start looking for one thing - I usually get side tracked reading a lot of other interesting things I wind up digging up... I have to say that I too find it interesting that given the details tracked by the Technical Service Bulletins - - there doesn't seem to have been one documenting the addition of the hot air from the manifold to the air cleaner. At any rate I think we have a close enough date documented via the dates on the various Owners Manuals. 15 Nov. 1970 and perhaps a couple months of production prior to that date. Looks like Jimbo was right on the money.Mike - next trip to the garage I'll start looking at old manifolds....FWIW,Carl B. July 26, 200915 yr comment_290460 Jimbo,I am completely correct on what I know. Read what I wrote. Reading comprehension is elementary for greenhorn status. So is spelling. Further, you forgot to mention the various designs for holding the filter element in place and their application. As well as the various shapes of the air horns. Don't spar with me, boy. You'll get bruised.I would love to see pictures of the winter / summer setting feature. I'm looking for a picture of the manifold Mike describes. I have one with the shield.Sorry Chris, sounds like I hit a nerve. Students should never respond to their teachers that way. I was invited to respond to Adam's question. My answer was not intended to make you look bad but to enhance your answer. As far as this "boy" sparring with you I wouldn't waste my time. With 26 years of hands on experience repairing, restoring, collecting, and owning over 50 240z cars I seriously doubt you could bruise me. Maybe a scratch but definitely no bruising this "Boy".That being said I am going to give my greenhorn student a chance to earn some extra credit to get that "A". Here's your question.Other than all the differences you, I, and the other guys have already discussed there are the five (5) additional differences. Can you name these five (5) differences and the production dates when the changes occurred?I'll give you a hint. Two (2) of them you can probably google and the other three (3) were pointed out by me to you at one of your Z Mecca visits. I believe you took pics as you normally do when you visit.Anyone following this thread if you know the answers please refrain from replying till Chris has a chance to respond.Sorry for the late reply but you know I don't have the free time to spend on this site. July 27, 200915 yr comment_290514 Not wanting to add fuel to the fire too much but 9070 does not have the winter summer flapper and appeared to be all original when I purchased it. It is an 8/70, the manual that came with it also makes no mention of the flapper. It has the 2400 valve cover also. Not sure about any of this for sure but just my observation. Cheers Richard. June 27, 20159 yr comment_472770 My 9/70 does not have the summer/winter flapper. I can't find it now, but I thought I read somewhere the flapper was added 10/70.
