Tim 76' 280Z Posted February 17, 2009 Share #1 Posted February 17, 2009 Does anyone have a working set of door locks with keys for a 76 280? If you do how much? Mine are not working at all.
Unkle Posted February 17, 2009 Share #2 Posted February 17, 2009 Take them out and get them rebuilt at a locksmith shop. Unless they'revandalized , or totally shot , it may be the answer instead of trying tobuy locks from another car that are already worn out . conedodger Posted February 17, 2009 Share #3 Posted February 17, 2009 I think I bought one of the last complete new sets from MSA about 10 years ago. I sold it after the car was wrecked. I paid and sold it for about $250... I would guess, if you could find a new set it would be more than that...My advice is the same as the Unkle... pull them all have them rebuilt by a locksmith

Tim 76' 280Z Posted February 18, 2009 Author Share #7 Posted February 18, 2009 (edited) Well before I posted this thread I placed a bid on some door locks on ebay. Spent 81 dollars for the set and they are new so I hope they work. I hope to take the new ones and have them keyed to my old set so I dont have 3 keys for the z. conedodger Posted February 18, 2009 Share #8 Posted February 18, 2009 I just did a part search on NissanParts.cc and it came up as being available for $407.16!http://www.nissanparts.cc/cart/?pn=80010-n4700 I bet they had it recreated for the Z Store project. When I was at NASA at Dryden Flight Test Research Center at Edwards AFB, Sol who is one of the guys at MSA brought it up to me personally on his way to somewhere for the weekend. After the car was wrecked I took it off and sold the set...
sblake01 Posted February 18, 2009 Share #9 Posted February 18, 2009 Just because an items come up in the nissanparts.cc database doesn't mean it's available. That only indicates that it's a good part number. Note the yellow 'bullet'. It would be green if it was available. I've done a lot of business with them and you'd have to call Russell or Lisa to verify availability or the lack there of.

sblake01 Posted February 18, 2009 Share #11 Posted February 18, 2009 Z Store project? What year was this? This set was purchased in 1992.1997 I believe but Rob's logic likely doesn't apply because I doubt that you'll actually find this lock set at nissanparts.cc or any other Nissan dealership/website.
