Posted February 17, 200916 yr comment_274627 I have a 72 240. My license plate light cover (black) is held on to the white plastic base that contains the bulbs by way of three screws. Im looking to replace it and Im being told that the 1 screw type is the same. I believe the single screw type is from later cars such as the 260 or 280. They look different, I dont know if they would fit back and forth. Perhaps some of you could help me out on this. Every picture I look at for correct 240Z's has three screws holding the light cover on.. ...the only pics I can find showing no screws are of 260 and 280 Z's. anyone else know about this/ ? February 18, 200916 yr comment_274717 Now I am not positive but believe that they are the same 1970 thru 1978. The three screw type that is. I am however sure that you can get a new one OEM from your Datsun dealer. Why not put the original back on? Just my two cents worth. February 18, 200916 yr comment_274765 My 78 license plate lamp is held on with two screws that are on the ledge, on either side of the hatch's latch. The bulbs are accesible after you remove the lamp. Sorry, no picture.
