It might be harder to envision today, but he had humble beginnings. He didn't actually hit the bigtime until the 280ZX had been out for several years. He was always known as a performance buff, so his attraction to Car & Drivers " 1979 Car of the Year" isn't too much of a stretch, for me, although now he would be easier to picture in a chauffeur driven luxury car.

Talking of celebrities of a sort ( I say sort because I can't remember his real name). I ran across a story about "Bubbles" from Trailer Park Boys and the two cars he owns. One is IIRC a Lincoln Town Car and the other is a 1970 240Z. No mention of his go cart.:classic:

I know that but Bubbles is played by an actor named Mike Smith. Not familiar with the show but I worked with a guy who had people in Canada and would occaisionally talk about the show. I don't know who owns the car that Ricky sleeps in but wasn't it known as the "Shitmobile"? Not sure why those two thngs stick out and beyond that, I need to stay out of this thread because I really don't have a clue about the show.....

For a non-intiate you've done well grasshopper...

I had to look up "Trailer Park Boys". I now understand why all of the responses have been from people in Canada.

Try and find an episode on-line...it's pretty much a documentary on real life in Canada...

One out of every three of us has either a drink in our hand at all times, owns a shitmobile, steals bar-b-q's and has a gay drunk wanna-be cop security guard trying to sting us...

If we show up at any convention / Z-fest...watch your bar-b-q's...

Come on guys, you're giving our firends to the south the wrong impression about Canadians. As I was saying to my aunt Lefty, Trailer Park Boys is a grossly unfair depiction of Canadians. "Hey a**hole, that's MY shopping cart!" Sorry guys, gotta go.
