Posted February 23, 200916 yr comment_275131 Well the read window defogger is not working but I know the window is getting fire. So I got some of the replacement Defogger Repair Kits to "paint" in the spots. However I found that the spots are too great to repair this way.Does anyone know if there is a replacement "grid" anywhere or does anyone know where to get a replacement window with a working or near working grid?ThanksTommy Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/30915-77-280z-coupe-back-window-defogger/ Share on other sites
February 23, 200916 yr comment_275133 Tommy, I used a 2 part epoxy to repair mine, not the normal conductive paint. It claims to be able to bridge 10" gaps. Details are in the last post in this thread:http://classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?p=235144&highlight=repair+rear+defroster#post235144 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/30915-77-280z-coupe-back-window-defogger/#findComment-275133 Share on other sites
February 23, 200916 yr comment_275212 There are some places that sell kits to completely replace the froster grid, like this one: http://www.frostfighter.com/prt2600.htm Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/30915-77-280z-coupe-back-window-defogger/#findComment-275212 Share on other sites
March 31, 200916 yr Author comment_279303 I ordered from http://www.frostfighter.com/prt2600.htm as suggested and it came with directions and seems very simple to set up. Gotta wait now for a day over 70 degrees outside..Thanks for the tip. March 31, 200916 yr comment_279335 You mean now you'll need a day when it's 7 outside? To see if it works! Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/30915-77-280z-coupe-back-window-defogger/#findComment-279335 Share on other sites
March 31, 200916 yr comment_279339 I'm sure he means that it requires 70 degree temp to install it. In another thread on this subject, we talked about the fact that I had purchased a replacement rear glass a few years back to solve the defroster problem. I recently checked with my source and replacements are no longer available through Nissan.
