Posted February 23, 200916 yr comment_275157 On the early choke plate,'70, to the right of the rear window defroster switch, there are symbols like parking lights or fog lights embossed in the plastic. Mine has no switch to fit in that square hole below the symbols. What is supposed to be there?? February 23, 200916 yr comment_275162 the dummy plug is there on the North American Cars, Overseas they have regulations for front & rear "fog" lamps for visability. I beleve there would be two switches in that spot (front & rear). The front fogs were usally on the top of the bumper to the insides of the bumperettes, and the rear were (i think) intergraded into the tail lights (the top portion of red lens)... but then again I live in Missouri, and am only basing this on some pictures I had seen of the overseas Z. -Todd Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/30919-early-choke-plate/#findComment-275162 Share on other sites

The two switches were for left and right, not front and rear. February 23, 200916 yr comment_275168 That makes sense, Well I had the "intergraded into the tail light" part right, haha. Knowlege IS Power... and using the search feature is as well! The late 240 console plate is interesting, I have a early 72 w/a blank in that spot for the seatbelt light/rear lamp. I could retro fit the rear lamps... hmmm project time?? February 23, 200916 yr comment_275184 I wish I had taken a picture before I disassembled the console. The switches are black toggle style with a white dot - similar to the radio antenna switch. February 24, 200916 yr Author comment_275249 Thank guys, the PDO install some sort of momentary switch in that spot(tacky looking). I think it is for a power antennae. This is just one example of some strange wiring. Say, is anyone reproducing wiring harnesses for our early cars?MikeWow, that thread was great! So in our cars, what covered the square hole? A blanking insert or something? Edited February 24, 200916 yr by mbarjbar Added a question.
