I wonder why they didn't come up with a better solution for the stabilizer bar? A straight tubular bar above the lower control arm pivots, splined ends with trailing arms connected to the control arm with heim joints would not have ground clearance issues like the one here, attaching under the suspension. Yes, speedway supply places in the US have splined hollow bars, it's such a simple and effective solution, plus there is the option of various size bars. Twin caliper brakes have advantages except for (unsprung) weight? January 16, 20214 yr comment_614503 They did. The second #33 BSR 240Z was modified to use a straight bar. I have two of them in my garage (1.10 and 1.25 diameters). They hole sawed both engine bay rails welded in a tube and suspended the bar thru the tubes. January 16, 20214 yr Author comment_614515 Pretty much every Porsche from the 1980’s back uses this. It’s called a torsion bar. The twisting motion created by one side causes a reaction to the other side that plants the suspension. Very effective.
