Posted February 25, 200916 yr comment_275373 ok i searched and i mostly found were question and answers on what people thought about them. all honesty i might already know the answer, but my lack of knowledge on carbs wont allow me to believe its correct.i made a vid instead of trying to type out a long confusing description.http://s86.photobucket.com/albums/k98/overdrivex/?action=view¤t=b08816d4.pbrjust dont seem right..my best guess is the rod that everything is attached to needs to be replaced because it maybe stripped. that's why instead of moving both sides it only moves one side. both carbs are doing this and this is why im not sure if it really messed up or im just not looking at it right.i did not assemble these this is how it came with the car. the owner said it did run at one point than sat for some years and he could not get it to start.any helpfull input on this would be appreciated. February 25, 200916 yr comment_275375 Could it be that the secondary is vacuum operated? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/30940-cunfusion-on-weber-3236-dgv-5a/#findComment-275375 Share on other sites
February 25, 200916 yr Author comment_275381 Ha you right!! i did a search on "weber 32/36 dgv carburetor vacuum operated secondary" and found an article comparing a mechanical vs vacuum operated secondary. the position of the primary limits the secondary opening. makes perfect sense now. thanks alot that little bit of info helped me figure it out. you have been a great help in all my post stephen. February 25, 200916 yr comment_275408 I had a couple of those on 510s and trucks in the past. I don't remember a lot about them but I thought that they were vacuum operated.
