sblake01 Posted February 28, 2009 Author Share #15 Posted February 28, 2009 NO OTHER Z known to have this motor.......What I do know is that this is a one-of-a-kind car. There are NO OTHERS like it in the United States, and probably not in the entire world. That's not even true. There are several sites at a least one You Tube video that show Y44 engines in S30s in the US and other parts of the world.
hls30.com Posted February 28, 2009 Share #16 Posted February 28, 2009 "The experts have heard of this car and now you can buy it."... I asked him who "the experts" were, and for the Vin... Of course, now that the car is on ebay, every one of us has heard of it. Though confusing knowledge of the car with agreement that it is valuable is just a wee bit of a stretch:stupid: Will
Mr Camouflage Posted February 28, 2009 Share #17 Posted February 28, 2009 A guy in West Aus has put the same engine in his 260Z 2+2, so that guy cant claim it's the only one in the world.

adamr Posted February 28, 2009 Share #19 Posted February 28, 2009 Wow, a beaten up, unrestored, molested old 260zX 2+2 for a quarter mil? Fascinating... Might be worth more with a quick Maaco respray and some pimped out rims.
hls30.com Posted February 28, 2009 Share #20 Posted February 28, 2009 Ya know, You could probably pay a competent shop(one with an owner with proper mechanical ability and reasonable judgment;)) a whole lot less to build a much better car with the same engine, put it on ebay and have just as much history-maybe more if the shell didn't spend more than 10 years in the sand...collecting dust and mystery:eek:.Will
Arne Posted February 28, 2009 Share #21 Posted February 28, 2009 A seller with 0 feedback and a stupid asking price? I figured it was a scam from the beginning. And as of this morning, the auction is gone, pulled by eBay.

TomoHawk Posted March 1, 2009 Share #24 Posted March 1, 2009 (edited) You see that stuff on the Barrett-Jackson auctions ALL the time: people auctioning something like a '70 Cuda, claiming their car is a one-of-a-kind or the 'only one like it.' It just means it's a car with something like a left-handed cigar lighter/ashtray or any other combination of factory options that would make it the only one with that combination of options. And they think it'll get them an extra $20 or $30,000 Edited March 1, 2009 by TomoHawk
