It's now black

Well after alittle body work. As in sanding out the filler from the trim holes and redoing them. I rolled it into our paint booth lastnight and gave her a few coats of flat black. Not sure what color I will go with in the end. But for now this will do.

Talk about a change. ;)

Thank you, I must say I also like the flat black on her. Now for how it's running...... I know this motor runs like a madman. But at this point I am waiting on a few small parts before I can fire it off. I found that the cooling line that runs on the sparkplug side of the block has a bad leak. It's where the hard lines join just before it bends around the back of the motor. The rubber reducer that joins the hard lines is bad. So now I am waiting on that. I am also waiting on the new clutch master and slave kits.

I should have all the parts in my hands by Monday.

The PO of my 73 had the motor worked over and only drove it about 100 miles before I bought it. Then I did about another 200 miles before pulling it out of the car around 2002. He did give me all the paperwork on the parts and work done on the motor near 2k worth. But I lost it :stupid:

We had a real bad flood in 2007 and my house had near 5 foot of water inside. The paperwork didnt stand a chance.

I am just thankful that my Z and parts where not at that house when the water came up.

Anyway, I know shes a runner and REAL strong :)

Its alive. Another zed is being brought to life. I like the flatblack too. I am always working on my 72 and it is a ongoing process. But at least you can work on them. These cars now days you cannot even see the motors, let alone work on them. Keep up the good work. :)

I feel you on the new cars!!!! Just for the fun of it I kept track of the time on the motor swap. It was just over 45minn for pulling the old one and about 2 hours on the install. Alot of todays cars would take that much time just in installing new spark plugs.

The before shot looked exactly like my Z before I scraped off all of the ancient respray. The paint I'm using looks best with a black base layer, so I'll be going that route myself here soon. Looks pretty good for the interim.

Not to pester, but since I cannot see photobucket linked photos at work (where I read this board), PLEASE use the insert image feature of the site. All you have to do is click on "Go Advanced" buttom at the bottom of the text box, then use the "insert image" icon and upload it directly from your computer. You do not need to put them in the gallery or anything else. Simple, easy (easier than adding them to photobucket and posting a link) and the images remain in the thread for eternity, and those of us whose workplaces have blocked photobucket can see your pics.

OK, Doug I have been tryin for you buddy. But I cant get it done :stupid:

I have gone into advanced and did the insert image. But I dont understand it from there. It's asking for a http link rather then from my computer or my pics. I did load a few photos in my member pics. They said aproved two days ago and had shown up on the site. Now I just went for that link and they now say pending aprov.

I respect what your sayin and want you ta see. But I just cant get it!!!!!

PM me your email and I would be more then happy to send you some pics.

It's not your fault I am puter dumb ROFL sorry.

Sorry, I misspoke on what to click on - try Go Advanced, and then click on the Attachments (looks like a paperclip), and then you can browse for the file on your computer.

Once you have selected your file(s), click the upload button on the bottom right. It will them load the pic into your post, and will show up listed under the "Current Attachements" area, which is under the upload or browse area (see attached pic).

It will then show up as a thumbnail in your post in the "Attached Thumbnails" section, like this one. You can also use the "Preview Post" button to make sure it has worked :) Don't worry, we'll get it sorted eventually!
