So I changed out the rusty wire wheels tonight for my mags. Here are some shots for you.

Would anyone happen to have a set of four center caps that I could buy or trade for?

On the wire wheels you can contact Dayton they do spoke wheel restoration. When I had the blue z see pic to right I looked into wire spoke wheels, but they cost to much. So I went with the Colorado Custom wheels that reminded me of 70's/80's style Porsche wheels.

On the mags, that design was very common and included many no name brands, but I think they are Shelby wheels. Check out this forum link it might help "Mike B" posted some of the Shelby Catalog.

depending on the brand the company may still make the hubcaps. I found new ones from American Racing for mine and they where cheaper that I thought they would I'm actually getting them tomorrow in the mail. They snap in instead of a screw in the back, this would be nice I have marks on the originals from the last owner trying to unscrew them with a pipe wrench (he found out they are plastic ). By the way I don't think they are American Racing most of their rims have the name on the inside, but maybe you can use their hubs.

2fast, I am not sure where you live. But, if you would like those wire wheels make me an offer. I would like to send them out and have them redone. But I just dont see myself doing that and would love to see them go to good use.

Amjc, Thank you on the heads up with Dayton. But at this point I wont deal with them anymore. I have a good friend who plays with the lowriders and they have been working on getting his wheel order correct for the last 7 months. If they cant pull parts from their own stock in 7 trys I dont think I would trust them with a custom job.

I wish you luck with your snap on covers. I have seen more then one person try that pipewrench on plastic covers .

I'm glad you found what your looking for, could you put some better pics of the spoke wheels, I might know someone that is interested if you want to get rid of them.

There is a guy in Oklahoma that sells centers and lugs his name is Rob Massey phone # 405-239-2010. I got mine from him for my Appliance wheels.

As far as I can see, Massey may be the only place left who has the 4-ear screw-on caps.

The wire wheel appears to be the same ones that I bought in the late 90's. They were a special run made by a company in CA. called Wheelsmith. The company had a small ad In ZCAR Magazine and was selling the wheels for $95. A very nice wheel for the money. IIRC, the center caps were chrome plated plastic that didn't hold up very well. I believe that the caps snapped into place. I had contacted Wheelsmith a few years after I bought the wheels to get additional caps and was told that they bought the caps from an outside source and were no longer available,I never had much luck in finding a replacement. Does chrome plastic outside ever hold up as well as we like. The only reason plastic is easy to chrome when new is the molding posses gives it a charge as the plastic gets older it louses that charge. When it louses that charge it louse some of the bond.

I have the plastic bullet nose caps on my rims. Got them from Ebay and they came with the little Z emblem sticker for the center. They are nice for the price and if they start looking bad in a few years, I would likely buy another complete set and push them in. They fit very tight and the person selling them has them in many different diameters.

here are the pictures of the centercaps. Excuse how dirty they are, they will clean up well, I am sure, I lightly rubbed one and it made a nice clean chrome spot. I think some time with a polishing compound would make them shine. I have the screws that go with them as well.
