I'd start out making sure all the lug nuts are snug, check and adjust the preload on the wheel bearings, check for slop in the ball joints and tie rod ends, inspect the tires for out of roundness or bulges, check for wheel damage, check for slop in the steering rack, rotor warpage, and get the wheels balanced. Due to the age of these cars, it's generally a combination of one or more of these things so hit em one by one until the wobble is gone. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
hls30.com Posted March 5, 2009 Share #5 Posted March 5, 2009 jack up the front end-both wheels off the ground-and give each wheel a left to right shake.At eyelevel, you should be able to see and feel where the "give" is, and clearly identify if it is wheel bearings, Lugs, ball joints, or the rack.Don't forget to check your bushings, lots-o-slop there with old rubber!Will Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I think most of us on here grew up before text messaging. Throw in some punctuation, an occasional period, and use real words, and you'll get better responses.This isn't directed at you John, since I don't know you, but I honestly think a lot of young people are fast becoming functionally-illiterate because of "txt speak".
