Posted March 5, 200916 yr comment_276367 Hi classiczcars.com readers! I'm Pascal from Germany. I imported this shiny 1972 240z: http://port9.org/z/ (Pictures taken from the Importer at Palm Springs, CA) to Germany... after 2 Months of waiting I got a call from the importer: "your car arrived today!" .... I was quite excited(and a bit worried too) since I never saw a 240z in real. fortunately all my worries went as I saw this: http://port9.org/z/22.JPG (Sorry for the bad Picture...) I cound'nt believe that they look even better in real Pictures & Videos of the Z at his new home: Pictures: http://mediaportalx.de/240z/album?album=all&gallery=1 Video: http://mediaportalx.de/240z/archives/16 I wonder if the previous Owner is registred on this forum?! Would be interesting to hear something about the history of the Z. March 5, 200916 yr comment_276382 Hi Pascal:From the time you started looking - to now - that was a fairly quick process compared to many people. Sometimes it takes a year or more to find and then purchase a car here in the States - and then have a car shipped to Europe. The pictures are great. It looks like a pretty stock example and it looks like it is in pretty good condition. Did you get someone to look it over physically before you bought it?Sounds fine on the video as well. You will learn that the 240-Z's are cool blooded - it takes a while to warm them up, and they usually don't run too well until they are warm. The white over-spray on the fuel tank would indicate that some paint work has been done, at least in the rear of the car. {not at all unusual for a 37 year old Z}. The engine compartment looks pretty clean as well.Give me the VIN and I'll see if I have any information on it. In the mean time tell us more about the car - how many miles are on it, how did you find and buy it etc. Also what problems did you have getting it shipped from California and what was the cost of doing that?Should be a pleasure refreshing or restoring it...FWIW,Carl B. March 5, 200916 yr comment_276402 Congrats on your purchase and getting it home safely. As Carl said, it looks to be in pretty good shape over all so you're way ahead of the game already. I don't imagine there are too many Z cars in Germany. I'm curious how you learned about the 240Z, why it peaked your interest enought to buy one from over seas without ever seeing one in person, what your plan are for the car, and what your first drive impressions are, even if it's in need of a tune up. March 6, 200916 yr comment_276493 Heißen Sie willkommen zum Klub! I was in Berlin last month, and was on the lookout for any Z's, but did not see any. Looks like a nice solid example you've got there, and should be lots of fun to drive! Keep us up to date on what your doing with your new Z Edited March 6, 200916 yr by DougN Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/31051-greetings-from-germany/#findComment-276493 Share on other sites
