THIS IS THE 2ND DATSUN 240Z EVER TITLED TO THE PUBLIC IN THE WORLD!!!!! THIS IS SERIAL NUMBER HLS30-00017!! Number 00016 was the first and is owned by another collector in FL. I have invested over $73K in this project and now must give it up due to time constraints because of a new business venture. The shell of this car is in primer as I had it in FL at a body shop for 2 years - it needs a few more hours of metal work, but is 95% completed. 90% of the parts of this car have either been refurbished or new NOS parts purchased. I have been collecting NOS rare 1969/70 parts for years that are no longer available. The original color is 901 Silver w/ black interior. John Williams, noted Z mechanic & racer in the Sugar Hill area has totally rebuilt the original motor (over $10K) which is just the tip of the iceberg. When this car is completed it will be the nicest Z anywhere w/ a history only 2nd to #00016!! I will be glad to send e-mail photos of the parts and shell and can review the project up to this point via phone @ 770.331.0999. I will loose over 24K selling at $49K, but that's your gain. In today's restoration world - $75-100K can add up quick - I know!! Thanks for your time!****PLEASE - NO REQUEST TO SELL TO NIGERIA OR ANY OTHER PLANET - SCAMMERS, GET REAL!!**** * Location: DULUTH, GA * it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interestsPostingID: 1061973165 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/31074-hls30-00017/ Share on other sites

March 7, 200916 yr Author comment_276596 Just curious not seeing anything here about it. I would think there would be a better venue to sell it than on craigslist. I see it as a valuable piece of history. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/31074-hls30-00017/#findComment-276596 Share on other sites
March 7, 200916 yr comment_276660 I didn't think silver was an original color on the early models. I could be wrong though. I agree with everyone. Selling this car on craigs list is kind of like selling your fine jewelry at a garage sale. Do you think the add is for real??? Many of the earliest cars were silver. My HLS30-00237 is 901 silver.Yes, the ad is real and Carl and many other people on this site know the seller. Not sure why he chose craigslist over ebay for this car. Maybe because craigslist is free and since the car is not together it may be easier to deal with a local buyer rather than shipping it?-Mike Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/31074-hls30-00017/#findComment-276664 Share on other sites
March 7, 200916 yr comment_276668 .............Yes, the ad is real and Carl and many other people on this site know the seller. Not sure why he chose craigslist over ebay for this car. Maybe because craigslist is free and since the car is not together it may be easier to deal with a local buyer rather than shipping it? -Mike Under the circumstances, I can sort of see why the seller would prefer to sell it locally, but when you are asking nearly $50k for a car that is in pieces, you are severely limiting yourself. If it wasn't for Nota280 starting this thread, the listing would have gone unnoticed except for the the people who view the Craigslist listing locally. Someone who is truly interested in this car and is looking to spend that kind of money would drive or fly in from out-of-state to inspect it, so why not list it on Ebay?
