Hello all-

Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. My name is Scott and bought a 1975 280Z last year that I have been restoring for quite some time. It is a work in progress but is slowly taking shape. I have restored a few cars in the past and this one will be a restoration with small upgrades such as a 3.1 liter motor and Tokico shocks and springs, urethane bushings and so forth. I live in Charleston, SC and hope to meet some fellow Z enthuasist's.

And here I thought putting a varistor in the cold start sensor circuit, or changing to aftermarket wheels was a "small Upgrade"!:stupid:

Restoration-putting it back as it was.

Restomod-putting a few things back as they were and changing everything else!

Yeah, you are correct. It's actually a resto-mod. I love to tinker and change things. I want to drive it around now, it is been a long time and I am ready to get the body finished up.

Welcome! You've certainly done a lot of work on the old girl! Looks like it will be very nice when you get her done Your interior photo was a bit blurry, is that a Datsun horn button on your Nardi steering wheel?

Nice job so far. I am sure it's gona be a blast for you once shes done. I am not a huge fan of the color you have gone with. But thats just me. I must admit it's looking sharp and love the color match on the wheels. Keep up the good work and welcome in on one of the best zed sites on the net.

Some of them are blurry, also if you click on the photo it enlarges it. Thanks for the compliments, I love working on it. Yes, it is a Datsun button, but I am not sure what kind of steering wheel it is. I bought it off of a guy in Japan on Ebay and it came with it. I was pretty happy with that score. Thanks again for the comps.

Thanks for the comps. It is a 2008 ford color, it looks good in the sun (if you like green...). It's a blast driving it. I finally got the Mikuni's close to being tuned up, although they are still a little lean on the pilot jets. It sounds unbelivable. Lots of smiles per gallon.

Your steering wheel is a Classic Nardi Personal Steering Wheel. You might have the name E. Nardi engraved on the right side spoke. I have one for my Z (but it is not on the car now and I don't have the Datsun horn button) and have one on my MGB (with an MGB horn button). These steering wheels need an adapter specific to the car model to mount it, and come standard with a Nardi horn button. They also make one like yours but with black spokes as well.

Overall a very nice aftermarket steering wheel popular with many classic sports European cars (Jaguar, Porsche, Ferrari, Maseratti, MG, Triumph, Mercedes, Lotus, Fiat, etc.) I have not seen too many of them on 240Z's, but there are a few...

Yeah it took awhile to find an adapter with that bolt pattern diameter and specfic to the Z. I might get a nice wood shifter knob later that says Datsun on it as well. I made the knob that is on there now out of oak and stained it to match the wheel.
